<br />July 14, 2003 <br /> <br />City of Centerville <br />1880 Main Street <br />Centerville, :MN 55038 <br />ATTN: Kim Moore-Sykes <br /> <br />Dear Kim, <br /> <br />I received a letter from the City of Centerville concerning what someone thought was an <br />accessory building behind my garage. This is a licensed ice house which is used on <br />occasion at larger gatherings when fishing far away lakes. The only ordinance relating to <br />this that I can find is Page 38 and 39 of Ordinance #4, which I have inserted. <br /> <br />Section 130-140: Outside Storage. All products, materials and equipment, <br />except as specifically provided in this Ordinance, shall be stored within permitted <br />structures, except for the following: <br />Residential Districts and Dwellings in the M-1 Districts: <br />A. Agricultural products, equipment and appurtenances owned by the owner of <br />the property and used on the property on which they are kept; and <br />8. All licensed and operational motor vehicles shall be parked on the permitted <br />driveway area. Any non-licensed, non-operational vehicles must be stored in an <br />enclosed structure; and <br />C. A maximum of two (2) of the following units may be stored outside of a <br />structure for more than forty-eight (48) hours on any residential parcel provided <br />they are stored on the permitted driveway area outside of the road right-of-way <br />or are in a side or rear yard. A licensed motor home or fifth wheel trailer is <br />allowed in a side or rear yard. <br />1. 80at <br />2. Camper <br />3. Motor home <br />4. Snowmobile's <br />5. Personal watercraft <br />6. Personal Utility Trailer <br />7. Ice House <br />8. Small construction equipment <br />None of the above mentioned items may have an overall length from front to <br />back in excess of thirty-five feet (35'). <br />D. Clothes lines, antennae, air conditioners, outdoor grills, play equipment, <br />ornaments and monuments; and <br />E. Temporary storage of materials and equipment during construction and <br />landscaping. <br />F. Lakeshore properties can store the following items of personal property within <br />50' of the shoreline during the months from September to May: docks, boat lifts, <br />swim rafts, slides, and other swimming equipment. <br />
