City of Centerville December 20, 2004 Council Meeting Minutes Council discussed the matter and detennined that the City Employees would be covered by the City's insurance policies in the event of an accident. Motion bv Council Member Lee. seconded bv Council Member Pur to aoorove Consent Al!enda Item 11 as oresented. AD in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. V. AWARDSIPRESENTATlONS/APPEARANCES I. Chief Bob Makela - Presentation to Exiting Mavor Sweeney Chief Makela acknowledged the public service efforts of outgoing Mayor Sweeney and thanked him as well as the City for the support of the police department. He then presented Mayor Sweeney with a clock on behalf of the governing board and police department to acknowledge his service. He also provided the Mayor with patches from the old department and the new department. 2. Council Member Broussard Vickers - Presentation of Gavel to Exiting Mavor Sweeney Council Member Broussard Vickers presented exiting Mayor Sweeney with a gavel in recognition for his service to the City. Mayor Sweeney thanked Council and the City for the acknowledgement. VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS 1. Truth-in- Taxation Hearing Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member Caora to close the oublic hearinl!. AD in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. vn. NEW BUSINESS 1. Resolution #05-001 - Appointments for 2005 Council reviewed the appointments for 2005 and appointed Lee as Acting Mayor, Capra and Lee to the Fire District Steering Committee, Lakso to the North Metro Cable with Paar as the alternate, Capra and Lee to the Police Governing Board, the City Administrator to the Tri City Meeting, Paar to EDC, Lakso to Park and Recreation, Broussard Vickers to Planning and Zoning, Acting Chief Makela as Emergency Services Director, and Capra to the Solid Waste Advisory Committee.
