Carter, residing at 6913 Sumac Court. I am currenUy employed by the Slate of Minnesota,
Department of Health and have worked in the public seclorforthe pasl26 years. I have been a Centerville
resident since February 2003 when I married Michael Carter, a Centerville home owner and resident since 1989.

Before moving here,l had been a long time resident and home owner in the city of Minneapolis. I enjoyed big city
living for quite some time, but when the opportunity to move into a smaller prospering community presented itself,
I found the option quite attractive. I vividly remember myfirst visit to Centerville in early 2002. It was 2 days after
a big snowfall and when leaving my home in Minneapolis, the car got stuck at the end of the driveway, because the
street had not been plOWed on the "even side". I arrived Michael's home in Centerville and was pleasanUy
surprised to see the streets plowed curb to cum. I asked Michael if the streets were always plowed that quickly
and without hesitation the answer was "yes". I was impressed by the fact that the city was responsive to the
needs of the citizens and in a timely manner.

I have spent many 2"" and 4'" Wednesdays watChing the City Council meetings on cable TV and learning about
what's important to the citizens of Centerville: quality of IMng, the environment, community celebration, fiscal
responsibility and community growth balanced with economic development, just to name a few.

My interest in public service has followed me through my working career. As member of the council this position
would allow for continued personal growth in government operations. I am confident that if glven the opportunity
to serve on the city council I will represent the concems of the citizens and bring an objective point of view on other
community issues.

Thank you for your consideration and I will be available priorto your final selection if you have further questions or
would like to meet in person.

Regards,

E~ .~l..\

Samara A.
