· DV camcorders The DV camcorders surpassed the SVHS camcorders as the camera of choice for check-outs. A corresponding improvement in video quality of finished projects naturally followed. · Non-linear edit suite The non-linear edit suite that was built in 2003 didn't see much use from the general public at first. It was a new format, and an entirely new way of thinking about editing. Happily, in 2004, the general public started warming up to the idea. Non-linear editing classes are becoming more popular and this edit suite started to get some real use. We also placed a DV tape deck in the linear edit suite to accommodate all of the format needs of our producers. Annual Volunteer Award Ceremony Human capital is our greatest resource. We work with a lot of people in the community who produce their own programs and people who, cumulatively, volunteered nearly 3,000 hours to help staff produce programs utilizing the production truck. Both methods require a lot of work, knowledge and time. We are very respectful of and grateful to those folks who participate in community programming and we think it's important to recognize them for all of their efforts. Volunteers at the award ceremony We do so at a Volunteer Award Ceremony that we hold every April. In 2004 the ceremony took place at the Majestic Oaks Golf Course. Around 50 volunteers and producers showed up for hors d'oeuvres, conversation, trophies, channel 15 clothing and to be recognized and appreciated for their efforts. Fourteen special merit awards were presented to some very deserving individuals. This year, all of the award winner's photos were posted on the website, along with additional pictures of the gala.
