<br />. Website <br />The website has become an incredibly valuable tool for us. Through cross- <br />promotion with some of our series programs we have found additional ways <br />to attract the community to this invaluable <br />information source. We created links for <br />people to respond to questions from City <br />Scope and Sports Den. People who <br />answered questions correctly were <br />'awarded with a t-shirt. We also included <br />comprehensive, weekly updates on the <br />progress of our new building. Access <br />users, government officials, and even the <br />constructon workers all commented on <br />how much they enjoyed visiting the <br />website and keeping up with events <br />related to the new building. Videogram online <br />Our monthly newsletter the Videogram continues to be distributed <br />electronically. We have found this to be an economical and efficient way to <br />share information with our users and other interested parties. The newsletter <br />is also posted on our website. <br /> <br />Additional Services for the Cities <br /> <br />. Computers, networks, and Rose <br />As you may recall, we sent Rose to school to become a Microsoft Systems <br />Engineer. A big goal of ours was to offer whatever computer assistance to <br />our cities that we could. Well, this little plan paid off in a big way in 2004. <br /> <br />o Rose completed building seven computer workstations and a three <br />hard-drive back-up system for the City of Circle Pines. <br />o A new computer network was built and installed for the Centennial <br />Fire District. It included designing the network, building two general <br />workstations, a graphic workstation, and a non-linear editing station <br />with both VHS and DVD burning capabilities. A three hard-drive <br />back-up system was also a part of this project. Rose also installed <br />routers and switches to enable a communications pathway for all <br />employees, and access to high speed internet. <br />o Two new Scala graphics systems were designed, programmed, <br />and installed for the cities of Lexington and Lino Lakes. This was a <br />real money saver for the cities as Scala normally requires clients to <br />purchase a turnkey system. Rose, however, worked with Scala <br />and managed to undertake the private build. <br /> <br />15 <br />
