<br />'. <br /> <br />City of Centerville <br />Febnuuy 9, 2005 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated that there was extra fill needed to fill in the hole at the comer that <br />used to fill with water. It was filled in and graded to move the water and prevent ponding <br />in that location. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member Lee <br />to auurove Consent Al!enda Item 8 as uresented. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimouslv. <br /> <br />V. A W ARDSJPRESENTATIONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />1. Mr. Paul Montain <br /> <br />Mr. Montain appeared before Council and said that he feels the rental registration fee is <br />being arbitrarily charged to him and others who were willing to be honest about rental <br />properties and there are many throughout the City that are not reporting their rentals and <br />not paying the fee. He then said he wants the City to uniformly enforce the fee. He also <br />conunented that he feels this is an unfair tax. <br /> <br />Council indicated that all ordinances are enforced on a complaint basis and informed Mr. <br />Montain that he is welcome to submit a complaint and the City will follow up on it. <br />Council also agreed to review the ordinance. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she would not be interested in changing the <br />ordinance or waiving the fees. <br /> <br />VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />1. St. Genevieve's Request for Rezone from R-2 to P-l <br /> <br />Mayor Capra opened the public hearing at 6:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Tom Wilharber of 6849 Centerville Road appeared on behalf of St. Genevieve Church <br />and asked for Council consideration of the Church's rezoning request. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that the Comprehensive Plan would need to be amended <br />and the rezone, if approved, would not be effective until the amendment. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra said that she would like the City to make any other known changes to the <br />Comprehensive Plan at the same time. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked when the Church expected to begin <br />construction. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilharber indicated they would like to move the heavy equipment in before road <br />restrictions go on and begin construction as soon as possible in an attempt to be <br />completed and into the facility by fall. <br /> <br />Page 3 of8 <br />
