City ofCenterville
1880 Main Street
Centerville, MN 55038-9794

RE: Community Tier II Sewer Plan

Dear Ms. Moore-Sykes:

nus letter is a follow up to our letter of December 8, 2003 notifying the City of the need
to have an adopted comprehensive sewer plan approved by the Metropolitan Council
before your community can alter, expand or improve its sewage disposal system.

As indicated in our December 8 letter the Council has simplified the process for
communities. During the review ofyaur community's comprehensive plan, the MCES
reviewed the sewer element of the plan against the content requirements of a
comprehensive sewer plan. Thus all that is required of your community is to submit a
copy of the City Council (Town Board) resolution adopting your comprehensive plan. In
your transmittal letter request the Council to review the sewer element of your now
adopted comprehensive plan to fulfill the requirements of your comprehensive sewer
plan.

The MCES will continue to review and approve local sewer extensions consistent with
your community's last approved comprehensive sewer plan. The Metropolitan Council
would have approved this plan in the late 1980s or early 1990s. In order to avoid
potential problems with sewer extension approvals, it is important that you take the
necessary steps to get your latest comprehensive plan approved. If you have MY
questions regarding the need for a Comprehensive Sewer Plan or the needed additional
information please contact Donald Bluhm, Manager of Municipal Services at (651) 602-
1116. The information should be submitted to Cheryl Olsen, Librarian Assistant,
Metropolitan Council.

Sincerely, .

(M'" .~
. ~.
<'.(h.n.(, ...... .

William G.
