Knowledge of maintenance equipment, construction and repair methods and procedures <br />for streets, water and sewer lines, catch basins, pumping stations and other city owned <br />facilities. <br /> <br />2. Knowledge of safety standards and precautions related to the job and work-related duties. <br /> <br />3. Ability to use the equipment and tools of the trade. <br /> <br />4. Ability to read and write and comprehend the English language. <br /> <br />5. Ability to understand and follow written and oral directions. <br /> <br />6. Ability to work cooperatively with others and establish and maintain effective working <br />relationships with other employees and the general public. <br /> <br />7. Ability to perform job duties in all weather conditions and in uncomfortable conditions. <br /> <br />8. Ability to sustain continuous physical effort, including frequent bending, walking, <br />manipulation of and heavy lifting of equipment. <br /> <br />9. Ability to inspect, maintain and operate proficiently light and heavy equipment, such as <br />loader, bobcat, dump truck and snow plow. <br /> <br />10. Ability to work independently. <br /> <br />11. Ability and willingness to respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends. <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and Experience <br /> <br />]. Must possess a valid Class B CDL. <br /> <br />2. Must have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent. <br /> <br />3. One year's experience with public works functions, including streets, parks, water <br />distribution, storm water and sanitary sewer collection systems. <br /> <br />4.
