<br />5. Must be able to obtain a Class D water license and Class SD wastewater license within 12 <br />months of employment with the City. <br /> <br />6. Must maintain licensing through continuing education and training. <br /> <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: <br />Must be able to safely operate and insure the safe operation of all pieces of equipment in the <br />Public Works Department. <br /> <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS: <br />Work is performed primarily outdoors in all kinds of weather and temperatures exposing the <br />employee to inclement weather and hazards related to working with and around a variety of <br />equipment, working in confined spaces, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, lifting of heavy <br />objects, exercising physical exertion in performing heavy manual labor and dangers related to the <br />digging up and repairing water and/or sewer lines. <br /> <br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be outside in <br />varying weather and temperatures; frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, <br />or controls; and reaching with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, <br />walk, bend, squat, step up and step across. <br /> <br />The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities <br />required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. <br /> <br />The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an <br />employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations <br />may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. <br /> <br />PRESSURES AND STRESS: <br />The work is usually demanding and sometimes requires the incumbent to work beyond regular <br />work hours. The assignments or work conditions can, on occasion, exert unusual stress or <br />pressure. <br /> <br />WORK ENVIRONMENT: <br />The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those the employee <br />may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
