<br />. Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful and professional working <br />relationships with supervisors, elected officials, co-workers, subordinates, candidates and the general <br />public, some of whom may be hostile. <br />. Considerable ability to plan and organize work. <br />. Considerable skill in verbal and written communication. <br />. Ability to arrive at work on time. <br /> <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS: <br />Incumbent must be able to perform tasks requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must <br />have the ability to perform tasks requiring sustained light physical effort, including large amounts of <br />data entry. Occasionally will be required to lift moderately heavy objects, typically not to exceed 40 lbs <br />- the equivalent of a box of computer paper. <br /> <br />PRESSURES AND STRESS: <br />Most of the required tasks are time-sensitive in nature, and incumbent may sometimes be required to <br />work beyond regular work hours. Incumbent must also possess ability to appropriately handle <br />confidential materials. <br /> <br />WORK ENVIRONMENT: <br />Work environment is typically pleasant. Incumbent may occasionally be required to travel to attend <br />educational classes or seminars. <br /> <br />SELECTION GUIDELINES: <br />Formal application, rating of education and experience, oral interview and reference checks, pre- <br />employment physical exam and background checks. <br /> <br />The duties listed above are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be <br />performed.
