October 8, ] 996 Dear Centerville Property Owner: This letter is being sent to notify you of the proposed water service assessment against your property. A Public Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, ]996, 6:00 P.M. at City Hall, ]880 Main Street, Centerville, Mn 55038. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to hear all parties interested. Written comments, sent to the above mentioned address, will be read during the Public Hearing if received prior to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 23, ] 996. The proposed water service assessment and interest works several different ways. The interest rate on the proposed assessment is 8%. The proposed assessment amount of $],644.9] can be applied to your taxes and paid over a ten year period. If you, as the property owner, pay the entire assessment within 30 days of the adoption of the assessment role, no interest is charged. If you pay the entire assessment after the 30 days, but before the City certifies the assessment to Anoka County, interest only accrues to the date of payment. If you reject the proposed water service assessment you may object it in writing to the Mayor or City Clerk only prior to the end of the Public Hearing and you must file the objection within 30 days to the District Court. Additional cost to you would be mnning your private line to the watermain, and capping your well (if applicable).
