City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />December 14, 2005 <br />Mayor Capra indicated that the Alexandra House provides gifts to women and children <br />that they help throughout the year and they do accept donations of gifts and foods and the <br />information is on the website. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that Granny’s Closet collects clothing for those in need and that <br />information is on the website. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that anyone who wishes to donate items to the Alexandra House <br />can drop them off at City Hall and she will deliver them. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated the final public informational meeting will be held on December <br />20, 2005 at Centerville Elementary and noted there would be on site child care available <br />but those interested must register through City Hall. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway provided an update from the Planning Commission meeting <br />reviewing the items discussed for Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that new police officers were sworn in and she and Council <br />Member Lee toured the new facility. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated that the new Police Chief would be sworn in on January <br />9, 2006. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that Council Member Lee was appointed as Chair for the Police <br />Governing Board for 2006. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar provided an update on the Park Commission meeting for Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that skate nights are January 6 and January 27, 2006 with <br />horse rides from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and it will be at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar indicated that Parks and Recreation is discussing different ways to <br />conduct a contest for naming the park and use those ideas and make a recommendation. <br />Those entering a suggestion for a name would have their name entered for a drawing for <br />Cougar Cash and this will be done during the Fete des Lacs Festival in 2006. <br /> <br />X. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar to adjourn <br />the December 14, 2005 City Council Meeting at 7:45 p.m. All in favor.
