I walked away from the meeting with assurance that there would be monitoring of snowmobilers. Update: Why are so many snowmobilers traveling above the speed limit? At least 75 perC(:lnt using Old Mill Rd are speeding. Why is it necessary for property owners to place sticks and reflectors along the boulevard in an attempt to keep snowmobilers off their property? Why do I see evidence of snowmobilers traveling a,..oss private property, including church property? Why do I see yellow tape attempting to keep snowmobilers from going across driveways? There have been two citations giving out to snowmobilers this season in the tri- city area. One was due to an accident with a snowmobile. Many people will place poles and tape on their property to keep snowmobilers off their property but do not report to the police. Driving through the city, it is evident snowmobilers are driving in places they do not belong. One frightening incident I heard was a snowmobiler crossing through the church property and running over a mat that covered a fuel line connecting propane gas into the building under construction. The propane gas is used as temporary heat for the building. Obviously some people don't seem to use common sense when using these machines. They have no respect for others property. You have given two warnings to the snowmobilers, telling them if ordinances aren't observed, the city will ban them from use in the city. How many warnings are you willing to give?
