<br />Please list community involvement, i.e. (years of city service, fire department, school, <br />other community involvement.) <br /> <br />Active Centerville resident since building and moving in 1979. <br /> <br />Rice Creek Watershed District Citizen Advisory Committee member <br />(3 years in late 1980's) <br />Learned about water quality and issues dealing with the Rice Creek <br />Watershed in particular. <br /> <br />Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Church <br />Building and Maintenance Committee (Early 1980' s) <br />Program Chairman (Mid and late 1980's) <br />Led a non-growing non-denominational group to membership with the <br />Unitarian Universalist church. Associating with the UUA turned <br />non-growth into growth. <br />Board Member at Large (1990' s) <br />Helped with construction of an addition. <br />Designed and built a large redwood sign (still in use). <br />Treasurer (1998-2000) <br />Restructured and implemented all record keeping to use standard <br />accounting practices (with Quickbooks software). <br /> <br />Peltier Lake Association <br />. Founded the Peltier Lake Association in 1988. <br />. Worked lake level issues when St Paul Water pumped Centerville and <br />Peltier Lake down 6 feet in 1988. As a result of the draw down and action <br />by the Association, aerators were installed on Peltier and Centerville lakes <br />to prevent fish winterkill starting in 1988. <br />. Began a roughly 4 year CurlyleafPondweed harvesting effort for Peltier <br />Lake in 1989. <br />· Helped motivate Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) to implement a <br />$90,000 Cleanwater Partnership water quality study for the Centerville and <br />Peltier Lake watershed in 1990. <br />· Worked dam level issues, as landowners upstream wanted the dam <br />removed and/or lake levels dropped over winter. After collecting data <br />myself and writing an extensive report, the issue faded out. <br />· Monitor Peltier Lake water quality for the Metropolitan Council (started in <br />1989). <br />. Launched an effort to manually dig out recently discovered Eurasian <br />Watermilfoil in Peltier Lake in the fall of 2000. <br />· In 2001, found $5,000 in RCWD grant money and raised another $3,000 <br />for $8,000 total to help harvest and attempt to control the exotic Curlyleaf <br />Pondweed in Peltier Lake south of the island. <br />
