Expressed concern about slalom water-ski activity north of the island in <br />Peltier Lake right next to the Great Blue Heron rookery and in shallow <br />water filled with beneficial aquatic plants. An effort to protect that area of <br />the lake was successful with the establishment of a no-wake zone. <br />. In 2002, RCWD granted $8,000 and the Association raised another $4,000 <br />totaling $12,000 to harvest CurlyleafPondweed. <br /> <br />Minnesota Design Team (1998 with effects continuing today) <br />. Hosted an engineer from the Minnesota Design Team. <br />. Prepared and gave a presentation for the city and Design Team. <br />. Heard many people express a desire for trails in the community. <br />. Organized an effort to capitalize on the Design Team effort holding further <br />public meetings, discussions, and establishing subcommittees. <br />. Headed the Parks and Lakes subcommittee. <br />. Theresa Brenner and 1 made formal proposals to try to establish a Planning <br />Committee or function in the city. <br />. Met with many other agencies and communities to coordinate trails that <br />would interconnect cities, parks, and facilities (such as the Wargo Nature <br />Center) <br />· The trail plan created from the Minnesota Design Team effort is partly <br />implemented and the plan has been promoted and propagated throughout <br />the area (Hugo, Lino Lakes, Anoka Parks, Anoka County, St Paul Water, <br />Washington County, Met Council, etc). <br /> <br />Boy Scouts Assistant Scoutmaster <br />Took all the training needed to become an Assistant Scoutmaster and <br />participated in campouts with troop 232. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Committee <br />Promoted trails, parks, and open space in the city. <br />Promoted various programs for the city. <br />Promoted the Wheels Park. <br />Promote improved park resources for the city, such as lake access and more <br />programs (not limited to sports only ideas) for the young people and adults. <br /> <br />Awards or recognition honoree has received. <br />Centerville Citizen of the Year, 2000 <br />Citizen Assisted Monitoring Program awards for collecting and preprocessing water <br />samples from Peltier Lake for 5 years and 10 years. I've been monitoring the lake <br />for 14 years. <br />
