<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />July 22, 2009 <br /> 2. Police Commission (Update) <br /> <br />Council Member Lee reported that at the Police Governing Board meeting, the preliminary <br />budget was not approved. They were asked to bring the police budget back to the City <br />Councils for input. <br /> <br />It was noted that the budget will not be adopted until August 31, 2009. It includes a $10,000 <br />increase in Centerville’s portion. The first mid-year review for all the officers will be in <br />January, 2010. <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the budget draft did contain the Police Commission’s <br />proposed number. <br /> <br />3. Music in the Park <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that the public has enjoyed the performances sponsored by the Parks <br />and Recreation Committee and hope that future performances will be scheduled in years to <br />come. <br /> <br />4. Storm Water Stats – Mayor Capra <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked City Administrator Larson for the Storm Water Stats. An employee of <br />St. Genevieve’s stated that it went up from $500 to $1,200 quarterly. She stated that this <br />could discourage businesses from moving to Centerville. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that Lino Lakes is also struggling with this issue and Hugo <br />is much lower. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Broussard Vickers stated that the City was undercharging in the past. <br />Mayor Capra stated that she felt that the increase may have been received more favorably if <br />it had been a gradual increase. <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Larson stated that he will get more information regarding comparisons. <br /> <br />5. Fete des Lacs Volunteer Meeting <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee reported on the 8K Run and parade details. He stated that there is a <br />link on the City’s website where people can register.
