<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />July 22, 2009 <br />Councilmember Paar, Councilmember Fehrenbacher, and Mayor Capra stated that they are <br />willing to participate. Councilmember Broussard Vickers stated that she will participate if <br />she is in town at that time. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member Paar, to <br /> <br />approve City Staff parade participation in the Fete des Lacs Parade and receive 3 <br />hours of compensatory time for same. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />IX.ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1.City Administrator, Dallas Larson <br />a. Televising of Planning & Zoning Commission Public Hearings <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson inquired whether the City could forego televising public <br />hearings at the Planning & Zoning level due to budget constraints. <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard Vickers stated that she would not have a problem with <br />that. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra felt that if the legal requirements, notices in the City’s legal paper and <br />affected property owners mailed notification; she had no concerns with not televising <br />these events. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Broussard <br />Vickers, to discontinue televising public hearings at the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission level. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />b.2009 Street Project <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported that in the process of removing pavement, more <br />curb was found that needs to be removed. There is approximately 5,500 feet, which <br />will add an additional $40,000 - $50,000 dollars. <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued. <br /> <br /> City Engineer Statz stated that due to the contractor being in the area, the City would <br />reap a financial benefit in pricing and it would be advantageous for the work to be <br />completed at this time. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Fehrenbacher stated that he felt it would be better to overestimate <br />the cost. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Larson stated that the paving would be completed between July <br />26 and August 4, 2009. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Larson stated that no action is needed at this time. <br /> <br />City Engineer Statz provided a picture of the Street Scape Project to City Council. <br />Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br />
