<br />Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded by Councilmember Brenner to maintain the statutory tort <br />limits. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Workers Comuensation Covera2e <br />lVIr. March continued by explaining that lVIr. Beulke (Beulke Insurance Agency) commented until this <br />year, no cities have elected to carry the workers compensation coverage. The coverage is for <br />Council members that are injured while in the line of duty. Mayor Wilharber identified that the workers <br />compensation coverage extends to council pay not regular work pay. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded by Councilmember Travis to deny the workers <br />compensation coverage. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Business/Citizen Person ofthe Year Criteria for Nomination <br />Ms. Mary Capra (EDC Committee Member) addressed the Council and requested consideration for the <br />business/citizen person on the year criteria for nomination. The Council discussed the publicizing <br />nominated business/citizen. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Brenner, seconded by Councilmember Sweeney to approve the criteria for <br />citizenlbusiness person of the year, and that all nominees will be publicly acknowledged upon their <br />written permission, as per the Economic Development Committee's recommendation. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Annual Stell Increase - Grade 2. Stell 3 - Recelltionist based on Satisfactory <br />Annual Performance Review. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Brenner, seconded by Councilmember Nelson to go into an Executive Session <br />to address the Annual Step Increase for Receptionist A. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber noted the meeting was recessed at 8: 17 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Travis, seconded by Councilmember Sweeney to close the Executive Session. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber relayed that the February 24, 1999 Council meeting was reconvened at 8:48 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sweeney, seconded by Councilmember Brenner to award annual step increase <br />3 of based on satisfactory annual performance review, based on a satisfactory performance effective at <br />the end of a successful probationary period, and the step increase will be retroactive to the anniversary <br />date of the Receptionist. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Consider the Purchase of a Podium - Cable Franchise Fees <br />Mr. Sweeney presented the concept of purchasing a podium. The Council discussed the advantages and <br />disadvantages of installing a podium. Some thought that the small town atmosphere mav be jeopardized <br />and the audience participants may not feel comfortable to approach the Council table. Whereas others <br />thought a podium my lend to person recognition and enhance professional discussion <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sweeney, seconded by Councilmember Travis to look into the options of <br />purchasing a podium.
