City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 23, 2009 <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve the <br />use of EDA funds for the Food Drive event, not to exceed $1,000 and contingent on <br />obtaining the participation of the majority of businesses that participated in the <br />Dash for Cash. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />3. Letter of Resignation from Councilmember Tom Lee <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee reported he was regrettably resigning his position as City <br />Councilmember due to his work load and recent acceptance of a promotion. He <br />apologized to the Councilmembers for not being able to finish his term, explaining he <br />feels his resignation is the appropriate action to take at this time, opening a position for a <br />citizen that has the time to dedicate to the City. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra thanked Councilmember Lee for his service stating it was an honor to work <br />with him. <br /> <br />Councilmember Paar stated it was a pleasure working with Councilmember Lee, <br />recognizing all the ways that he helped finding solutions to problems. He expressed that <br />he would miss him. <br /> <br />Councilmember Broussard-Vickers stated she would miss Councilmember Lee as she felt <br />he always made his decisions with dignity and respect, she also thanked him for his time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Fehrenbacher thanked Councilmember Lee for his service and stated that <br />he looked to him as an example of one who said what he meant and did what he said. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding accepting letters of interest to fill the Councilmember <br />position and the dates of interviews. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Capra, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher to adopt <br />Resolution #09-029 Accepting the Resignation and Setting the Process for <br />Appointment of Replacement Council Member. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />After discussion it was the consensus of the City Council to schedule a work session on <br />October 21, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. for review of the applications of candidates for the Council <br />member position and discussion on the 2010 budget.
