City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 23, 2009 <br />and Response Plan – Pandemic Influenza and Public Health Emergency. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />6.Forest Lake Contracting Request for Time Extension Due to Swamp Deposits <br /> <br />City Engineer, Mark Statz reviewed background information regarding the requested <br />time extension. City Administrator Larson recommended that the City Council not <br />approve an extension at this time, as almost all of the items claimed were covered by <br />Change Orders that specifically noted that no additional time was being provided. He <br />recommended that the Council can always reconsider this when it is known if the <br />contractor meets his completion date.l. <br /> <br />After discussion it was the consensus of the City Council to not approve a request for a <br />time extension at this time. <br /> <br /> <br />7.Forest Lake Contraction Pay request #5 - $105,522.67 (Peltier Lake Drive Street <br />& Utility Improvements 2009.01) <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee seconded by Council Member Paar to approve the <br />Forest Lake Contraction Pay request #5 - $105,522.67 (Peltier Lake Drive Street & <br />Utility Improvements 2009.01) All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />8.Forest Lake Contracting Pay Request #5 - $49,017.61 (2009 Street Improvements <br />2009.02) <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve the <br />Forest Lake Contracting Pay Request #5 - $49,017.61 (2009 Street Improvements <br />2009.02) All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br />1. City Administrator, Dallas Larson <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson reported the City is in the process of extending its contract <br />with Waste Management. He has requested a proposed 2 to 3 year contract as well and <br />would bring a future update to the City Council. <br /> <br />2. EDA Events <br /> <br />Mayor Capra referred to the past benefit Dash for Cash and stated that she has been in <br />contact with community residents and businesses regarding a food drive/donation for <br />Centennial Food Shelf or Second Harvest as a benefit for others. She also noted <br />drawings for Cougar Cash could be held for example. Discussion ensued regarding the <br />City obtaining the participation of the majority of businesses that participated in the Dash <br />for Cash. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br />
