<br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes 11-04-09 <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Parks & Recreation Committee of the City of Centerville <br />held the regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> Chairperson Suzanne Seeley <br /> Vice Chairperson Kevin Selander <br /> Committee Member Kevin Amundsen <br /> Committee Member Mark Haiden <br />Committee Member Brian Peterson <br />Committee Member Patrick Branch <br />Committee Member Jon Grahek <br /> <br />Council: <br />City Council Liaison ~ D. Love <br /> <br />Staff: <br /> Absent ~ Minutes were taken by Committee Member Peterson. <br /> <br />Also in attendance were Mr. Mark Spitzmueller, Bald Eagle Water Ski Club and Mr. Matthew <br />Neutkens, Eagle Project. <br /> <br />___________________________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />I. APPEARANCES <br /> <br /> Mr. Matt Neutkens – Bird Houses for Eagle Scout Project <br /> <br />1.Mr. Matt Neutkens reports he is planning 20 bird houses in the parks - 2 in Hidden <br />Spring Park, 18 in Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. <br /> <br />2.He has had the utilities checked. <br /> <br />3.The poles are pounded in the ground in preparation of installation. <br /> <br />4.Mr. Neutkens plans to build the houses this winter. <br /> <br />5.Committee Member Amundsen asked about the drainage in Laurie LaMotte <br />Memorial Park and if the houses would interfere. Mr. Neutkens said that Mr. Tedd <br />Peterson, Public Works, didn’t mention it as an issue. <br /> <br />6.Mr. Neutkens approached the troop with the idea of cleaning the houses annually. <br />They have expressed interest, but the details are to be worked out. <br /> <br />7.Mr. Neutkens approached Menards for donation and was declined; he is looking at <br />other possible donors, but has the funds to buy lumber without donations. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mark Spitzmueller – Bald Eagle Water Ski Club <br /> <br />1.Mr. Spitzmueller didn’t get a chance to measure the depth at the location. <br />1 of 4 <br /> <br />
