Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes 11-04-09 <br /> <br />2.Centerville Lake was very weedy this year. <br /> <br />3.Chairperson Seeley stated that there are DNR maps available. <br /> <br />4.The Bald Eagle Water Ski Club meets in the off season. <br /> <br />5.They have discussed becoming more involved in the City to increase presence and <br />gain membership. <br /> <br />6.Mr. Spitzmueller discussed previous involvement in Fete des Lacs and possible <br />future involvement. <br /> <br />7.Discussion continued on how the club can be involved in the future festivals and the <br />cuts in festival funding. <br /> <br />8.Council Member Love was asked to inquire about the role of the City vs. the <br />Centerville Lions in the festival and who makes some of the decisions. <br /> <br />9.Committee Member Amundsen stated that the park work should begin in the spring <br />and the grant funding to be used for the work needs to be used by 2012. <br /> <br />10.Mr. Spitzmueller hopes that they will be able to use the Water Works site for <br />another year. <br /> <br />11.The Bald Eagle Water Ski Club still needs to investigate the site and plan how a <br />show can be performed at the site. <br /> <br />12.Committee Member Amundsen suggested that permitting and permission may be <br />needed from the DNR. <br /> <br />13.Chairperson Seeley suggested bringing back the ‘Learn to Ski’ event at Fete de <br />Lacs. <br /> <br />14.The Bald Eagle Water Ski Club is financed by membership and out of town shows. <br /> <br />15.Learn to Ski events have a $5 or $10 membership for insurance. Good for 5 times. <br /> <br />16.Full time membership is $100. <br /> <br />17.Discussed how to get the word out about the ski shows/events. <br /> <br />18.Committee continued to discuss the advantages of the club in Centerville. <br />IV. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />October 7, 2009 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Chairperson Seeley will turn in her set of minutes to Ms. Stephan with her mark up. <br />Motion was made by Committee Member Haiden, seconded by Committee Member <br />Amundsen, to approve the October 7, 2009 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting <br />Minutes with Chairperson Seeley’s corrections.
