Lighting in the Parking Lot - <br /> Councilmember Helmbrecht explained one night when she left City Hall and the parking lot was <br /> very dark. Councilmember Helmbrecht suggested looking at different lighting options for the <br /> parking lot. Mayor Wilharber suggested Mr. March have Mr. Palzer check into the different <br /> lighting options. <br /> Mr. March commented the street light on the corner of Peterson Trial was burnt out which may <br /> have caused the problem. However, the light has been replaced. <br /> Police Department - Snowmobile - <br /> Circle/Lex Police Department is looking to purchase a snowmobile. The Police Department is <br /> requesting $818 from the city which is one fifth of the total cost. The snowmobile retails around <br /> $6200, however if the order is placed prior to May 1, the cost will be about $4200. Mayor <br /> Wilharber realized this is not a budgeted item but he feels this is very important. <br /> MOTION by Mayor Wilharber, seconded by Councilmember Powers - Rasmussen to approve the <br /> City of Centerville give the Circle/Lex Police Department a donation of $900.00 contingent upon <br /> the purchase of a snowmobile. Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Wilharber commented he will notify the Police Department of the city's donation during <br /> the Police Commission meeting on April 10, 1997. <br /> Jim Smith 1629 Peltier Lake Drive was present for the Board of Review Meeting. Mayor <br /> Wilharber explained the Board of Review meeting closed at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mr. Smith commented on the Peltier Lake Dam situation. Explaining Roger Moore from the City <br /> of St. Paul makes the decisions in regards to the dam. Councilmember Powers- Rasmussen <br /> understood the Rice Creek Watershed District was facilitating the meetings since there is no <br /> control over the dam. Councilmember Buckbee commented a controllable dam makes sense. <br /> However she recalled several years ago they opened the dam so it must be somewhat controllable. <br /> COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br /> Councilmember Brenner reported Jim and she met with some representatives from Ehlers on <br /> Friday. Ehlers urged the city purchase the property first then proceed with senior housing. <br /> Councilmember Brenner and Mr. March had discussed this and concluded a workshop may be the <br /> best way to discuss the options and issues. Mayor Wilharber confirmed the Senior Workshop <br /> Meeting has been scheduled for April 23, 1997 at 5:00 p.m. <br /> Councilmember Brenner explained Ry -Chel and she attended the Willows Senior Housing open <br /> house in Ham Lake on the 8th day of April. This is the first Anoka County BRA senior housing <br /> project which has been completed. The 49 units were spoken for before the completion of the <br /> project. Councilmember Brenner and Ry -Chel had toured some of the apartments and they were <br /> nice. An entertainment center was donated from the City, by using the cable franchise funds. <br /> 7 <br />
