Hold scoping meetings to determine wellhead protection area delineation and <br /> vulnerability assessment requirements. <br /> 1. MDH will meet individually with each joint powers board member <br /> community to identify 1) how the delineation criteria in the state <br /> wellhead protection rule will be met, 2) the information that must be <br /> collected to delineate the wellhead protection area, 3) the <br /> information needed to identify property parcels that will be used to <br /> delineate the drinking water supply management area, and 4) the <br /> approach that will be used to assess aquifer vulnerability in the <br /> wellhead protection area. Target date - January through February, <br /> 1998. <br /> Delineate wellhead protection areas for wells completed in confined aquifer <br /> settings. <br /> 1. Delineate WHPAs using the method(s) agreed on by the joint <br /> powers board communities and MDH. It is anticipated that if MDH <br /> does the delineations, it will prioritize communities using the <br /> phasing numbers currently assigned to them. MDH completion <br /> date for all delineations in confined aquifer settings would be by <br /> July 1, 1998. , <br /> 2. Delineate drinking water supply management areas for wells by <br /> overlaying the wellhead protection areas on parcel maps. Target <br /> date - November 1, 1998. Lead agency - Each community. <br /> 3. Verify well and aquifer vulnerability assessments for each wellhead <br /> protection area. Target date - November 1, 1998. Lead agency - <br /> MDH and Anoka County Community Health and Environmental <br /> Services. <br /> 4. Formally submit a request to MDH to approve the delineations and <br /> vulnerability assessments. Target date November 1, 1998. Lead <br /> agency - Each community. <br /> 5 <br />
