The park last had development <br /> In the 1980's. issues of aging facilities, recreation needs, and natural resource management are <br /> all being addressed. Anoka County has received a grant of $1,644,000 from the Metropolitan <br /> Council for improvements to this 2,550 acre park reserve. <br /> The new plan is examining all important planning issues, natural resources management, and <br /> preparing a new layout concept for facilities. In addition, the county is currently in the early <br /> planning stage for the redesign of perk roads, picnic areas, swimming facilities, campground <br /> amenities, and trail development. This work is scheduled for construction beginning in the fall <br /> of 1999. <br /> The County Is Interested in carefully listening to your ideas, concerns, and suggestions regarding <br /> the redesign of the park, and the types and location of facilites within the park. The County's <br /> Planning Consultant, Brauer and Associates, will facif>tate discussions, present planning issues and <br /> findings to date, and assist with any questions you may have. A second public meeting will be <br /> held In the spring to review concept plans for the park. <br /> A map showing the meeting location is enclosed on the back.
