after the interconnect agreement is finalized.
EXISTING CONDITIONS
20th Avenue is Anoka County Road 54, which is a rural section street with ditches on both sides.
A creek crosses 20th Avenue in two locations and runs along a portion of the east side. Land
adjacent to 20th Avenue on the west side is zoned commercial and on the east side is zoned
industrial. A 10 -inch watermain was extended approximately 600 feet south for the Industrial
Park Development. Watermain was also constructed to the south end of Brian Drive in
Clearwater Meadows and the east end of Eagle Trail in Eagle Pass. An 8 -inch sanitary sewer was
constructed along 20th Avenue for the Industrial Park Development and a 12 -inch sanitary sewer
was constructed along Brian Drive in the Clearwater Meadows Development. On the southwest
side of 20th Avenue near the Lino Lake's City Limits, there are properties with private wells and
septic systems. The rest of the properties along 20th Avenue are not served by any water or
sanitary sewer system.
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS
The proposed improvements for the 20th Avenue Watermain Interconnection and Sanitary Sewer
are to extend municipal watermain from 600 feet south of Main Street to the Centerville /Lino
Lake's corporate boundary, and to construct a sanitary sewer system to serve the southeast area
of Centerville. Exhibits 2 and 3 shows the proposed ut for this project.
A. Watermain
The proposed watermain improvements will consist of connecting to the existing 10 -inch
watermain constructed along the east side of 20th Avenue. A 16 -inch watermain will
extend along the west side of 20th Avenue south 3,320 feet to the City limits of Centerville
and Lino Lakes. The watermain will connect to the existing 16 -inch watermain
constructed by the City of Lino Lakes. A metering valve and vault will be constructed at
this location to control flow and record the amount of Lino Lakes water being used by the
City of Centerville. The control valves will be constructed to limit Centerville's usage to
only when the Centerville tower is low.
In order to provide adequate fire flow to the City of Centerville, one of the wells must be
operational. Due to the uncertainty of power supply, the City may want to look into an
alternate power source for the wells. Watermain stubs and services will be constructed,
from the 16 -inch watermain to serve the properties adjacent to 20th Avenue. Since 20th
Avenue is also a county road, all services and stubs crossing the county road will need to
be bored. Exhibit 2 shows the proposed watermain construction.
B. Sanitary Sewer
The proposed sanitary sewer improvements will consist of constructing a sanitary sewer
system to serve properties adjacent to 20th Avenue. Due to the flat terrain, a Lift station
will need to be constructed to serve this area. The Lift Station will pump the wastewater
_ _
FEAS•260.085 -3- 260- 085.11
