POPTT( .ATION ANT) NUMBER OF HOTJSFHOIDS TO BE SERVED BY PROTECT
Centerville had an estimated population of 2480 with 752 households for the year 1996.
For the year 1996, there were a total of 323 service connections to the City's water
distribution system. This project would not add any service connections, but it would
provide an emergency backup source of water for all municipal water customers of
Centerville during the event of a pump failure, well contamination, power outage, or
during a dry period when the City's water tower may be drained.
CURRENT COST ESTIMATE
The estimated cost of the Lino Lakes Interconnection Project is shown below:
Construction Cost: $267,000
Overhead Cost: $ 94,000
Total Estimated Project Cost: $361,000
Overhead costs include administration, legal, engineering, inspection, staking,
construction administration, bonding, finance costs, and contingencies.
The City is requesting funding assistance for the entire project cost as shown above.
PROPOSED) PROJECT SCHEDTTT,F,
Planning & Design: Fall and Winter 1997
Construction: Spring and Summer 1998
Project Completed: Summer 1998
DESCRIPTION OF THFaiEFILFOR IMPROVEMENTS __:
The City of Centerville is in need of a backup source of drinking water for its
municipal water customers. If any problem were to arise with the City's water system,
such as well contamination, pump failure, power outage, or the emptying of its water
tower, they would be unable to provide its residents with a safe source of drinking
water. Lino Lakes currently has a much greater storage capacity than it currently needs
to provide to residents and would have adequate capacity to supply Centerville with a
source of water should a problem arise.
soossor Proposal 3 - Page 2 O: \proj \8008801800- 2304.scpt
