MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: March 5, 1999 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> FROM: Ry -Chel Gaustad, CMC City Clerk <br /> RE: Renewal and Extension of Existing Cable Franchise <br /> The North Metro Telecommunications Commission is in the process of preparing a renewal <br /> contract from the existing cable company. Last year the City Council granted an extension <br /> on the cable franchise contract through March, 1999, for the purpose of investigating and <br /> negotiating this agreement. The intended purpose of extending the renewal date is to <br /> provide member cities with ample time to decipher their needs, demands, recent technology <br /> and incorporation of same in the new franchise that will extend for another 15 years. <br /> I recommend approving the amended Ordinance #40, as stated. Please do not hesitate to <br /> call with any questions. Thank you. <br />
