Michael Navin suggested the City may want to have another <br /> public hearing. Steve Brown felt the Neighborhood Network Committee submitted some <br /> very good ideas. <br /> Letter from Parks, Trails and Takes Design Team Volunteers <br /> The Parks, Trails and Lakes group suggested that their plans be approved first by the Park <br /> and Recreation Committee and then; with revisions; if any, by the City Council. This <br /> approval would provide direction and assurance that these plans should go forward with <br /> the backing of the Park and Recreation Committee and the City Council. <br /> Doug Porter questioned if there was any news pertaining to Hugo and a possible trail <br /> between Centerville and Hugo. Also, is Centerville in harmony with Hugo? <br /> Mr. March expressed there have not been any discussions recently on an east -west <br /> regional trail. There are a couple of sub - divisions starting on the Hugo and Lino Lakes <br /> border. Jim March will contact the City Administrator in Hugo to discuss trail linkages. <br /> Jeff Gibbons stressed early communication is important on the front end rather than trying <br /> to change after the fact. We should be working with neighboring communities. Mr. <br /> Gibbons stressed that the Parks, Trails and Lakes committee just wants to offer <br /> suggestions. <br /> Michael Navin asked if any of the Park and Recreation Conunittee members had any <br /> problems with the proposal submitted by the Parks, Trails and Lakes committee. <br /> Mr. Navin added that the proposal falls into what the City wants to see. This grant would be for paving trails from the <br /> parking lot to the ball fields and on through to Centerville Road. It would also be for <br /> paving the parking lot and a playground structure. <br /> Mr. March mentioned he received a phone call from a gentleman from the DNR regarding <br /> some residents of Lino Lakes who live on LaMotte Drive and are against the trail linkage. <br /> They have started a petition against the trail. Jeff Gibbons concurred that some residents <br /> brought up a concern that the trail didn't have to go right along the road. They want it <br /> 3 <br />
