1 <br /> Meeting reopened at 7:12 p.m. <br /> B. Public Works Building <br /> Mr. March noted he has been the Area Utilities property farCitypurchase. Fouritems <br /> the City needs to review prior to continuing: review title documentation to the property, Phase I of the <br /> environmental study, the lease agreement the antenna towerand the written <br /> Junction would be willing to enter into for lease or rent. <br /> Mr. March commented that Mr. Peterson (City Engineer] - said a of the property would have to.be <br /> put into their computer to check the statistics for the property in regards to using the parcel to house the <br /> future water tower. The City will have to order an appraisalofthe property. The City Attorney <br /> suggested investing in title insurance. Mr. March did not know if there is a need for additional property <br /> for the water tower. <br /> MayorWilharber asked the taxable value on the vacant land. Mr. March did what the value of <br /> the property was increased to. <br /> CouncilmemherBrenner commented the may enable the City to cowl otthe <br /> commercial area. Mayor Wilharber mentioned if the City purchased the property south of Lake Area <br /> Utilities thenwe should sell the Cedar type' ty. Councihnembers Nelson, Travis and <br /> with Mayor Wilharber in entertaining the purchase of Lake Area Utilities' property in conjunction with <br /> selling the Cedar Street property. <br /> CouncilmemherTravis preferred to the property line to encompass a larger parcel or entertain the <br /> purchase as a whole piece. Mr. March suggested getting an appraisal to justify or base the purchase price <br /> on. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Brenner, seconded by Councilhember Nelson to direct staff to get an <br /> appraisal on the land. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councihnember Bremner, sewuded byCouucihuemberTravis to request the <br /> necessary preliminary research needed to assist in finding a water tower site, not to exceed $1,500.00. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Nh. Patzersuggested the council conside, exploring the property behind CityHalt. The regards to-the <br /> cost of the land in question, site and soil corrections may be less expensive than purchasing Mr. Lessard's <br /> property. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded byCounciimemherBrenner to disapprove the request get <br /> before the Council. Nelson, Brenner, Wilharber, aye - Travis nay. Motion carried. <br /> The Council discussed the purchase orlease of the-additional space within the Area Utilities <br /> building. Mr. Palzer noted that the building will need to be sprinkler. Mayor Wilharber commented <br /> that staff will research the appraisal and the results attire next council <br /> meeting. <br /> Page 4 of 5 <br />
