-2- <br /> SECTION V. A. Issuance of Tags. Upon the payment of the license <br /> fee and presentation of a rabies vaccination certificate the City <br /> shall issue a license tag to the owner. Duplicate tags may be <br /> issued for $1.00 in replacement of a lost tag. Dog tags shall not <br /> be transferred from one dog to another and no refunds shall be <br /> made for any dog license fee. <br /> B. Affixing Tags. Every owner of a dog required to <br /> be licensed is required to provide such dog with a collar to which <br /> the license and vaccination tags must be affixed and the collar <br /> with tags attached must be worn by such dog at all times. <br /> SECTION VI. Records. The City shall keen a record of all dog <br /> licenses issued with the name, address and phone number of the <br /> person to whom issued and name, age, description of the dog and <br /> dates of rabies vaccinations. <br /> SECTION VII. A. Impounding. Any dog found running at large or <br /> any dog found without valid tags displayed shall be seized and may <br /> be impounded. All dogs impounded shall be kept for at least five <br /> days, unless sooner reclaimed by the owner or returned to the owner. <br /> B. Redemption. Any dog may be redeemed from the <br /> pound by the owner upon the payment of impoundment fee for each day <br /> of impoundment and if the owner has a current license attached to <br /> the animal and proof of rabies vaccination is presented. Said fee <br /> shall be set by City Council and reviewed periodically and kept <br /> on record with the City Clerk and Poundmaster. <br /> C. Permissible Return of Unrestrained Doz. Notwith- <br /> standing the provisions of paragraph A, if a licensed animal is <br /> found unrestrained and its owner can be identified and located, <br /> such animal need not be impounded but may, instead be taken to the <br /> owner. In such case, however, proceedings may be taken against <br /> the owner for violation of this ordinance. <br /> D. Disposition of Unclaimed Does. Any dog which is <br /> not claimed within five days after impounding may be sold, for not <br /> less than the amount provided in paragraph B to anyone desiring to <br /> purchase the dog, unless said dog is requested by a licensed educa- <br /> tion scientific institution under Minnesota Statute Section 35.71. <br /> All such funds shall be paid to the City of Centerville and placed <br /> in the General Fund. Any dog which is not claimed by the owner or <br /> sold shall be humanely destroyed. <br /> SECTION VIII. Establishment of Pound. A City pound is established <br /> which shall be at such location, either within or without the City, <br /> as the Council by resolution shall designate. A poundmaster shall <br /> be appointed by the Council who shall attend to the maintenance of <br /> such Hound and he shall file a monthly report with the Council <br /> relating to the operation of such pound. The pound shall be main- <br /> ' tained in a clean and orderly manner and subject to periodic <br /> inspection by the City Health Officer. <br />
