AMENDMENT 3 <br /> TO ORDINANCE NO. 96 <br /> CITY OF <br /> BIGFORK, MINNESOTA <br /> An Ordinance to amend Ordinance <br /> No. 95 regulating the possession of <br /> potentially dangerous dogs. . <br /> Subdivision 1 <br /> (A) Include "cat" so as to read: dog <br /> or cat" in every part of Ordinance 95 <br /> or its Amendments. <br /> Subdivision 2 • <br /> (A) In the event that a dog or cat <br /> bites a person, and the owner cannot <br /> provide immediate proof of current <br /> rabies vaccination for this animal, the <br /> dog or cat shall be immediately taken <br /> by the City of Bigfork, or its agent and <br /> impounded for aperiod of ten days. <br /> (B) The owner shall have five cal- <br /> endar days .. after the ten day <br /> impoundment to reclaim the dog or <br /> cat, and pay the fees. . <br /> (C) if the dog or cat is not claimed <br /> after the five days, the City of Bigfork <br /> may destroy or dispose of the animal <br /> in a humane way. <br /> (D) The total cost of impoundment <br /> and disposal of the dog or cat shall <br /> be the owner's responsibility. <br /> Penalty: Any person found to be in <br /> violation of any provision of.. Subdivi- <br /> sion 2 of this amendment shall be <br /> guilty of a Misdemeanor. <br /> This Ordinance shall be in effect <br /> immediately upon publication.
