CENTERVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br /> SEPTEMBER 14, 1998 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Centerville Economic Development <br /> Committee held their regular scheduled meeting on September 14, 1998. Chairperson Tim <br /> Rehbein called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Present: Mary Capra, Theresa Brenner, <br /> Jim March, Paul Montain, and John MaGill. Others present: Lucy Thompson and Penny <br /> Simonson, both from the Minnesota Design Team. <br /> Approval of August 1998 Minutes <br /> Motion by Mary Capra to approve the August 1998 meeting minutes. Motion was <br /> seconded by Paul Montain. Motion was carried with John MaGill abstaining. <br /> Downtown revitalization <br /> Thersesa Brenner passed out the fifth draft of the proposed schedule, for the Design Team <br /> visit. Only minor changes were made. <br /> Facilities - They will have a site manger at the school for $12 per hour. The position <br /> would entail approximently 13 hours, for a total of about $156.00 We will need <br /> volunteers for set up and tear down. We will need to find a cordless mike to use. Paul <br /> Montain could find a slide projector if the school cannot supply one. TJ from the Cable <br /> Commission will be available for taping a lot of the time. <br /> Presentation - Centerville Lake Association and Rice Creek Trail Association to date have <br /> not responded. Randy Hagerty would like to give a presentation. Confirmation letters <br /> have been sent out to all others. Jim March has all the maps ready. Paul Montain will <br /> drop off the topography map. <br /> Fund Raising - Is now completed. Some collection is still necessary. <br /> Lodging - Mary Capra stated lodging is completed. There will be twelve members visiting <br /> with the students. <br /> Public - Working on direct flyer. The school did a write -up in their newsletter. Could <br /> possibly do a flyer with the agenda on it, or possiblibly do an ad in the Quad. Flyers are <br /> available at St. Genevives Church. <br /> Food - Theresa Brenner and Mary Capra checked out Sams Club and also met with Bill <br /> Bisek. They decided that it was more cost effective to do it ourselves with help from the <br /> church volunteers. Sunday Brunch will be held at Kelly's. <br /> Tour - Tim Rehbein and Theresa Brenner came up with a route for the walking and bus <br /> tour, Tim Rehbein will do the lead on the bus. Then Mary Capra and Tim will lead the <br /> walking tour. <br />
