ADMINISTRATORS REPORT <br /> Embedded Systems <br /> Mr. March reported that the City siren decoder board has malfunctioned in the past. It is also difficult to <br /> find replacement parts for the decoder board. Embedded Systems has indicated a need to update this <br /> decoder board in the near future. Mr. March also reported that Embedded Systems is offering a discount <br /> to customers who purchase new siren decoder boards prior to June 31, 1999. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Sweeney, seconded by Councilmember Nelson to approve the siren <br /> decoder board purchase. Motion carried unanimously. — <br /> Mayor Wilharber and Mr. March will be meeting with the other cities to investigate the possibilities of <br /> a Quad Cities Police Department. In addition, a Fire Steering Committee member is needed, the group <br /> -meets quarterly. _. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Sweeney, seconded by Councilmember Nelson to volunteer <br /> Councilmember Travis to serve on the Fire Steering Committee. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> $45,000 Park Grant <br /> Mr. March announced that the City will be the recipient of a $45,000 grant for play ground equipment <br /> for Acom Creek Park. The Department of Natural Resources received 138 applicants and the City was <br /> one of 30 applicants funded. <br /> X.
