Motion by Councilmember Travis. seconded by Councilmember Nelson that in the event Ms. <br /> Broussard Vickers does not accept the position, the City advertise for the vacancy. If less than <br /> e applications are received prior to Friday, July 9, the City will interview all candidates. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Don Bahneman Vacancy <br /> Mayor Wilharber read aloud a resignation letter from Mr. Don Bahneman (See attached). <br /> Motion by Councilmember Sweeney, seconded by Councilmember Travis to regretfully accept <br /> Don Bahneman's letter of resignation for the Park and Recreation Committee. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> Acting Miyor <br /> Motion by Mayor Wilharber, seconded by Councilmember Nelson to recommend Councilmember <br /> Travis be appointed Acting Mayor. 1VWotion carried unanimously. - <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded by Councilmember Sweeney to amend Resolution <br /> 99-01 to reflect Dick Travis as Acting Mayor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Police Department Budget <br /> Mayor Wilharber explained that the Police Department budget does not provide monies for capital <br /> improvements, vehicles, maintenance, nor insurance. After Mayor Wilharber polled the Council, <br /> consensus was the City of Centerville would support a Police Department budget increase of $28,000. <br /> Radar Detector <br /> Mayor Wilharber commented that a Police Officer would like to donate two radar detectors to the City <br /> of Centerville. <br /> Motion by Councilmember Nelson, seconded by Councilmember Sweeney to accept two radar <br /> detectors and to donate same to the Police Department. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> June - Special Meeting <br /> Mayor Wilharber requested that Media Specialist be added to the June 29, 1999 Special Meeting agenda. <br /> Animal Ordinance <br /> Motion by Councilmember Sweeney seconded by Councilmember Travis to place the animal <br /> ordinance on the agenda for the June 29, 1999 workshop. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> VII. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> VIII. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Nelson pointed out the Y2K `BUG" as the Centerville Y2K logo.
