MEMO <br /> DATE : June 18, 1999 <br /> TO : Honorable Mayor and Council <br /> FROM : Jim March <br /> RE : Generator purchase <br /> *************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** <br /> I have discussed with Fire Chief Bennett the possibility of purchasing a generator for Centerville <br /> City Hall. The generator would be sized to operate both City Hall and the Fire Station in the <br /> event of an emergency or natural disaster. The generator may cost in the area of $30,000. Chief <br /> Bennett has indicated that the Fire Department has funds available in the charitable gambling <br /> account to help pay for this piece of equipment. The generator would be permanently mounted <br /> behind City Hall. The generator would not be able to be used to operate the City wells from what <br /> I have been told. Specifications for a generator are included in your packet. The City Hall/Fire <br /> Station would be able to operate as an emergency operations center, if this piece of equipment is <br /> purchased. <br />
