CITY OF CENTERVILLE NOT APPROVED <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> MAY 26,1999 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held it's regularly scheduled <br /> meeting on May 26, 1999, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT; Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Members: Mari Nelson <br /> Theresa Brenner <br /> Dick Travis <br /> Terry Sweeney <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> STAFF: Jim March, City Administrator <br /> Ry -Chel Gaustad, City Clerk <br /> Paul Palzer, Building Official/ Public Works Director <br /> Tom Peterson, City Engineer <br /> James Hoeft, City Attorney <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Wilharber called the May 26, 1999 City Council Meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> II. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> III. APPEARANCES/AWARDS <br /> Citizen of the Year 1998 - Mary Capra <br /> Mayor Wilharber awarded Mary Capra with the 1998 Citizen of Year award. Mayor Wilharber <br /> marked Ms. Capra's dedication to numerous projects and committees around the community. Ms <br /> Capra thanked her family and the City Council both individually and corporately for recognizing her <br /> efforts. <br /> 1998 Audit - Abdo, Abdo, Eick & Meyers Steve McDonald <br /> Mr. Steve McDonald (Abdo, Abdo, Eick & Meyers) addressed the Council and gave an update on the <br /> City's annual financial report, year ending December 31, 1998. Mr. McDonald said the audit went well <br /> and then he addressed the general purpose of the financial reports. (Please see attached). Mr. McDonald <br /> recommended streamlining the debt service funds into one account as noted in his qualified opinipn <br /> enclosed in the management letter. Moreover, an increase is needed to ensure the utility operating <br /> revenue meet the operating expenses. Currently, the city is not covering the costs associated with <br /> operating the utility system; therefore, Mr. McDonald suggested changes in user fees. <br /> Page 1 of 9 <br />
