The petitioner requested that he be allowed to <br /> convert his existing porch into a ramp to facilitate access for his handicapped wife. <br /> There was no one in attendance to speak against this request. The Planning and Zoning <br /> Commission made the following motion: <br /> Motion by Broussard Vickers, seconded by Mr. LaMotte to grant the variance request <br /> based on close consideration of the variance standards and the consideration of ADA. <br /> However, since ADA does not necessarily mandate provisions for residential use, we feel the <br /> spirit of the law should be considered. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
