A. Variance Request - D. Killian (1695 Sorel Street) <br /> Mr. Killian explained that his wife is handicapped and needs ramp access into their home. <br /> He proposed to convert his porch into a ramp. Currently, the porch is on the set back <br /> line. Ms. Broussard Vickers felt other homeowners enjoy the right to access their <br /> home. Whereas, the Killian family does not have access, nor enjoyment. Mr. Killian <br /> mentioned at the last Council meeting the Attorney did not have a concern with the <br /> request. <br /> Motion by Ms. Broussard Vickers, seconded by Mr. Hanson to close the pubic <br /> hearing. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> IV ACTION ITEMS <br /> I Action on Variance Request - Killian (I695 Sorel Street) <br /> Motion by Broussard Vickers, seconded by Mr. LaMotte to grant the variance <br /> request based on close consideration of the variance standards and the consideration <br /> of ADA. However, since ADA does not necessarily mandate provisions for <br /> residential use, we feel the spirit of the law should be considered. - Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> • <br />
