CITY OF CENTERVILLE NOT <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING APPROVED <br /> DECEMBER 8, 1999 <br /> 6:00 p.m. <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of Centerville held their regularly <br /> scheduled meeting on December 8, 1999, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Member Dick Travis <br /> Council Member Terry Sweeney <br /> Council Member Linda Broussard Vickers <br /> ABSENT: Council Member Mari Nelson <br /> STAFF: City Administrator, Jim March <br /> City Clerk, Diane Ward <br /> City Attorney, Jim Hoeft <br /> City Engineer, Tom Peterson <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Wilharber called the December 8, 1999 City Council meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> II. PUBLIC HEARING (S) <br /> Truth in Taxation Hearing — 6:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter <br /> Mr. March reviewed budget and tax information with Council and informed Council that <br /> he received three calls regarding taxes. He also stated that the budget would not be <br /> approved until the December 20, 1999 meeting. Additional comments from the public will <br /> be taken at the meeting on December 20, 1999. <br /> Mayor Wilharber opened the public hearing. <br /> Mayor Wilharber requested that Mr. March check to see what percentage of the tax base <br /> is commercial and residential and provide that information at the December 20 meeting. <br /> Ms. Teresa Brenner and Mr. Wayne LeBlanc requested that Council consider forming a <br /> Long Term Planning Committee to assist the current committees in long term planning. <br /> She also stated that the Comprehensive Plan and the Design Team's recommendations <br /> would guide this committee. They would be able to work on grants for various projects <br /> because the City and its committees are busy with current work. They requested a budget <br /> • Page 1 of 7 <br />
