No person shall fire or discharge any fire arm, BB gun, air gun or splac ball gun within the corporate limits of the City of Forest Lake, provided, however, a BB gun or air gun may be discharged within a residence or other secure enclosure and provided, further, that a fire arm, 8s gun or air gun may be discharged within the "R -3" Rural Residential Districts and all that part of the "R-1A" One Family Low- Density Residential District lying North of 232nd Street North extended easterly to Interstate Highway No. 35 and westerly of Interstate Highway No. 35. Subd. 2. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit the possession of a firearm within the home or the discharge of the same when done in the lawful defense of person, property or family. Subd. 3 No person obeli fire or discharge a bow and arrow within the corporate limits of the city of Forest Lake except in a designated area with a permit issued by the Chief of Police or his designee provided, however that a bow and arrow may be fired or discharged within a residence or other secure enclosure. Subd. 4. No person shall keep, carry or have in his possession on any public street, upon the premises of another or in any public place any type of weapon having the personal assault characteristics of any sap, numchuck, blackjack, slungshot, slingshot, sand club, chain club, metal knuckles shurikens, or yawara stick. For purposes of this subdivision, the following definitions shall apply: i A. "NumohUOks" shall mean any t o device constructed of two solid c objects joined `' on one end by a chain, rope, thong, or other such material. I 8. " Shurikens" shall mean any metal device „ which has the shape of a multiple pointed star, each point ' being sharpened and primarily designed to be thrown. 1 � i • C. No person shall do any of the following: II A. Recklessly handle or use a firearm, other dangerous weapon or explosive so as to endanger the safety of another. 4 D. Intentionally paint a firearm or other dangerou weapon, whether loaded or unloaded, at or toward 4 `another. �' Subd. 6. No minor under the age of twelve (12) years shall handle or have in his possession or under his control except while accompanied by or under the immediate supervision of his parent or guardian, any firearm, air gun or dangerous weapon of any kind for any purpose.
