SEP-2O -99 MON 8 11 AN CTY OF FOREST LAKE FAX NO. 651. 464 4968 P, 2 <br /> Chapter 19 <br /> Section 19.08 (7) <br /> E r. <br /> Subd. 7. No person shall: <br /> A. Without the parent's or guardian's <br /> consent, furnish a child under fourteen yeas of age, or as a <br /> parent or guardian, permit such child to handle or use, <br /> outside of the parent's or guardian's presence, a firearm, <br /> air gun or dangerous weapon of any kind, or any ammunition <br /> or explosive. <br /> B. Furnish a minor under eighteen years of <br /> age with a firearm, air gun, or dangerous weapon of any kind <br /> or any ammunition or explosive without the written consent <br /> of his parent, guardian, or the Chief of Police or his <br /> designee. <br /> Subd. 8. No person shall transport a firearm by <br /> vehicle of any type whether motorized or not unless the firearm <br /> is: <br /> A. Unloaded and in a gun case expressly <br /> made to contain a firearm, and the case fully encloses the <br /> firearm by being zipped, snapped, buckled, tied, or <br /> otherwise fastened, and without any portion of the firearm <br /> exposed; <br /> B. Unloaded and in the closed trunk of a <br /> motor vehicle; or <br /> C. A handgun carried in compliance with <br /> Minnesota Statutes sections 624.714 and 624.715. <br /> subd. 9. A parson may not transport an archery <br /> bow in a vehicle of any type whether motorized or not unless the <br /> bow is: <br /> A. Unstrung; <br /> H. completely contained in a case; or <br /> C. in the closed trunk of a motor vehicle. <br /> Subd. 10. A peace officer is hereby authorized and <br /> empowered to seize and confiscate and dispose of any weapons, <br /> firearms, guns, bows and arrows, possessed or used in violation <br /> of this section. Articles which have no lawful use may be <br /> summarily destroyed. All other articles confiscated may be <br /> retained for use by the police department or sold at public <br /> auction. <br /> subd. 11. Any person who shall violate the <br /> Provisions this section shall be <br /> ponconvictionthereof, shallhepunished ac misdemeanor <br /> cordingtolaw and, <br /> . <br /> -193A- <br />
