CITY OF CENTERVILLE NOT APPROVED <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> JULY 28, 1999 <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held it's regularly scheduled <br /> meeting on July 28, 1999, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Members: Mari Nelson <br /> Dick Travis <br /> Terry Sweeney <br /> ABSENT: Linda Broussard Vickers <br /> STAFF: Jim March, City Administrator <br /> Ry -Chel Gaustad, City Clerk <br /> Tom Peterson, City Engineer <br /> James Hoeft, City Attorney <br /> I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Wilharber called the July 28, 1999 City Council Meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> II. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> III. APPEARANCES /AWARDS <br /> Lifetime Achievement Awards - Tom Wilharber and Ray DeVine <br /> Mayor Wilharber welcomed citizens and noted that Ray DeVine would read the biographies of the <br /> three Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. Mr. DeVme thanked Ms. Mary Capra for her time for <br /> making the Lifetime Achievement awards possible. Mr. DeVine read aloud each biography,_ while Mayor <br /> Wilharber presented the awards to Melvin Dupre, Floyd LaMotte who was proxy for Joe LaMotte, and <br /> Marcel Rivard (see attached). <br /> Felco Construction - sidewalk/driveway dispute <br /> Mr. Steve Felco - ( Felco Construction) and Mr. Bob Tschida (homeowner) were present to discuss a <br /> a mishap that occurred while installing sidewalks and driveway at 7329 Brian Drive, (Clearwater Creek). <br /> Mr. Felco explained that after discussing the sidewalk specifications with the City Inspector and the <br /> Engineering Inspector, the sidewalk and driveway were installed accordingly. Unfortunately, the <br /> sidewalk was installed incorrectly. The homeowner and builder requested the city to absorb a third of the <br /> cost to reconstruct the driveway and sidewalk. Mr. Cook explained that Mr. Felco's questions pertained <br /> to the driveway elevation specifications, not the sidewalk nor the areas within the right of way, which is <br /> in question. Mr. Peterson explained that the grade would not work on driveway elevations. Mayor <br /> Wilharber requested the advice of legal council.
