Update on Anoka County LaMotte Trail Issue - Tabled <br /> The City of Centerville hasn't heard from the DNR yet regarding the Cooperative Trail Linkage <br /> Grant. Anoka County would like to include our trail segment with their bid. <br /> Royal Meadows Park Improvements <br /> Mr. Westerlund from Public Works has installed new timbers and changed the size of the <br /> "cushion" area surrounding the swing to 16' x 30'. The hardware is installed and pee rock has <br /> been placed in the cushion area Mr. Westerlund mentioned the sand box needs to have some <br /> work done to it, and the slide still needs to be replaced. The discussion amongst the Park and <br /> Recreation Committee determined that the Park and Recreation Committee is satisfied with the <br /> improvements done to Royal Meadows Park to date, and that the City should wait with any <br /> further improvements until next spring. <br /> Final Concept of Acorn Creek Park <br /> Mr. Porter and Mr. Larson have been working together with the CNN to come up with a <br /> workable park in the Acorn Creek development that caters to all residents of Centerville. Mr. <br /> Porter gave a slide presentation which outlined how the CNN and the (2) two representatives of <br /> the Park and Recreation Committee, and any interested citizens came up with a proposal to <br /> submit, first to the Park and Recreation Committee, and then to City Council. <br /> The agenda consisted of the following: <br /> * Selection Process . <br /> * Vendors <br /> * Review Criteria <br /> * Cost Comparison <br /> * Discussion <br /> * Recommendation/Motion <br /> * Next Steps <br /> The Selection Process consisted of the following: <br /> * Announced to the public the award of the grant money to Centerville. <br /> * Notified playground equipment vendors of the need for bids. <br /> * Each interested vendor was sent a list of minimum playground equipment needs. <br /> * CNN, Park and Recreation members, and interested citizens met with each vendor to <br /> receive their proposal. <br /> * CNN, Park and Recreation members, and interested citizens met to discuss pros and <br /> cons of each vendor, and make final recommendations to the Park and Recreation <br /> Committee. <br /> The Playground Vendors Review Criteria were as follows: <br /> * Safety <br /> * Handicap Accessibility <br /> * Children of all ages <br /> * Variety of play structures <br />
