NOT APPROVED
CENTERVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 17, 1999
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Centerville Economic Development Committee held
their regularly scheduled meeting on August 17, 1999 at City Hall, 1880 Main Street.
Present: EDC Chairperson Tim Rehbine
Committee Member Mary Capra
Committee Member Lori Dorn
Staff: EDC /Staff Liaison Aimee Fairbrother
Absent: None
Appearances: None
CALL TO ORDER
EDC Chairperson Tim Rehbine called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion by Ms. Capra to approve the July 1999, meeting minutes. Ms. Dorn seconded the
motion. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
DESIGN TEAM - "IDEAS IN ACTION"
City Theme: Ms. Dorn will continue trying to contact Lucy Thompson of the Minnesota Design
Team, as well as Bob Thein of White Bear Lake, to ask their opinions on becoming a Certified
Local Government focusing on historical preservation.
Portable Exhibit: After reviewing options researched over the past three months, the committee
felt the most cost effective and informative way to present the Minnesota Design Team ideas
would be by EDC members creating their own foam board display, featuring one or two of the
images per board, explaining details and other information on the display. This portable display
will be for indoor use, and will be easy to move. Ms. Capra, Ms. Dorn and Ms. Fairbrother will
have the displays completed by the September 14 Design Team follow up meeting.
Page lof3
