INFORMATION SERVICES Classification # 30 62. <br /> League of Minnesota Cities <br /> 183 University Avenue East Date 992 <br /> St. Paul, MN 55101 -2526 <br /> Subject <br /> Municipality Penn oak- <br /> P o��� Cat Ordinance 30 13 0 <br /> Section 7 <br /> 307.000 Governing the ownership of cats in the City. <br /> 307.001 All cats in the City of Pennock shall have a current pet <br /> license. Each license is $3/year due by June 1. A $10 late fee applies <br /> after June 1. The licenses are to be obtained from the City Clerk or <br /> the Animal Control Officer. <br /> 307.002 All cats must wear the license tag provided when fee is <br /> paid. All cats without tag present will be treated as one without said <br /> tag. <br /> 307.003 Each person who owns a cat shall have that cat confined <br /> or on a leash unless the owner is present and the cat is on the owners <br /> Propeny- <br /> - A. The owner shall not allow the cat to run at large or onto the <br /> property of another without that person's permission. <br /> 307.004 Any cat found to be running at large in the City is subject <br /> to capture and is to be impounded at a licensed kennel. The cat is to <br /> be confined for a period of five working days to allow the owner to <br /> claim their cat. In the event the cat is not claimed in the five day period, <br /> It shall be destroyed by the supervisor of the kennel in a humane <br /> method. <br /> A. The owner of the cat found at large shall be responsible for any <br /> costs incurred in kenneling and capture of the cat. <br /> B. The owner of the cat shall show proof of current city license <br /> before the supervisor of the kennel will release said cat. <br /> C. 11 the cat is not claimed in the five day period and the cat is <br /> destroyed by the kennel, the City of Pennock shall pay all costs <br /> incurred. <br /> 307.005 This ordinance shall be enforced by any authorized <br /> licensed agent of the city Or beat law enforcement official of the <br /> county. <br /> A. Any authorized person who takes into custody any cat shall as <br /> soon as possible notify a member of the Pennock City Council, who <br /> shall make a reasonable attempt to locate the owner, if known, and <br /> notify the owner of the location of the cat. <br /> 307.006 This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br /> after its passage and publication. <br />
