3 . <br /> T it <br /> P c ; <br /> i C a <br /> 1 <br /> t s <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and Council Members <br /> FROM: Staff <br /> SUBJECT: Additional Office Furnishings & Council Chambers Upgrade <br /> DATE: December 21, 2000 <br /> Staff would like to obtain council's desire to do additional . upgrades to City Hall and <br /> Council Chambers. <br /> Staff requests that you consider the installation of cabinetry and countertop along the <br /> back wall of the copy room. This would allow the storage of paper, envelops, office <br /> supplies, etc. This would provide staff a more suitable, size appropriate, place for <br /> preparation of packets. Generally, staff uses the floor and/or a folding table to attain <br /> enough space for same. The cabinets would eliminate two (2) metal, wall storage units <br /> allowing additional floor space for the filing cabinets to be relocated from the front office <br /> area. The file cabinets would be out of sight of residents, staff would be more efficient in <br /> packet preparation and the entire copy room would be more organized. <br /> Also, as you are aware, with the cold weather we have been experiencing, several <br /> attendees of the previous council meeting commented on the temperature of Council <br /> Chambers. Staff requests that you consider finishing the block walls in Council <br /> Chambers similar to that of the Administrative Offices. This would be very beneficial, <br /> both economically and add to the comfort of Council Members and residents that attend <br /> meetings. <br /> If Council is willing to approve the above stated items, please direct staff to obtain <br /> proposals and commence installation of same. <br /> Thank you. <br />
