•
THE COUNTY BANK
Growing the future
To The Centerville City Council November 14, 2000
From The County Bank
Craig Bode
Vice President — Branch Manager
I am writing to the City Council of Centerville to voice my opinion on the proposed
development called Pheasant Marsh. As a businessperson and resident, I believe that
this development cannot hurt Centerville if approached right. There should be no delay
as we need to look at growing the tax base we have right now Just today, I read how we
have one of the highest average tax bills on our property, a very surprising 12 place
among 109 cities in the entire metro area!
I believe we have a good infrastructure in place to support the homes being built,
especially if they are phasing them in so as to keep the flow of new residents at a pace we
can all live with
As a resident, I always hear that we want "new blood," and that we have this slogan of
"Preserving the Past while focusing on the Future." Well, if this is our goal, then we
should embrace the influx of new residents who want to enjoy our way of life here.
> ° As a business person, I believe that to attract new business in the area, we need the
growth to support the need for the businesses that will benefit us all Such businesses
as a clinic, a grocery store, a drug store, a hardware store, to name a few.
FOREST LAKE CENTER CITY CENTERVILLE
1650 South Lake St. • P.O.
