Pay Estimate — Parkview Addition
Mr. Peterson indicated the pay estimate is due for $22,872.23 (excludes path) to Hardrives, the
contractor that paved the final wear course in Parkview. That item was removed from the
contract shortly after they had finished everything else so that Bonine would be done with their
work and not be the general in charge of that wear. Hardrives came back two or three months
later and completed the wear resulting in this current bill. Mayor Wilharber questioned the quality
of the paved path. Mr. Peterson commented the path was in poor condition and that it should not
be paid for by the City. Mr. Peterson stated he has informed Hardrives about the path, but has
not heard back from Hardrives on this issue.
Motion by Council Member Sweeney, seconded by Council Member Broussard Vickers to
approve the request for a $22,872.23 (excludes path) payment to Hardrives for the
Parkview Addition. Council Member Sweeney
stated he has had complaints about the new firearm ordinance.
VIII. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Laptop Computer
Mr. March gave an overview of a laptop computer the City purchased in 1999 from Amacomp
Inc. Mr. March indicated that due to malfunctioning of the laptop, it has been returned to
Amacomp Inc. Udo Wegmann, Amacomp owner, has tried to replace the laptop, but has run into
problems with the manufacturer. Amacomp is proposing the City exchange the laptop by
purchasing a laptop he currently owns. Although his laptop is a different model, his proposal
subtracts the cost of two components from when he purchased the laptop, and an additional $50
deduction for depreciation for having a used computer versus a new one. Mr. Wegmann was not
able to be present at the meeting.
Council Member Broussard Vickers questioned if there is any other alternative then the proposal
Amacomp is presenting. Mr. March indicated the option presented was the only alternative
offered. Mr. Hoeft advised the Council that any legal action may be a timely process and would
Page 3 of 6
