March <br /> City Administrator <br /> City of Centerville <br /> 1880 Main St. <br /> Centerville, MN 55038 <br /> Subject: Public Works Property Purchase <br /> Parcel's 23.31.22.23.0005, 23.31.22.23.0006, 23.31.22.23.0007, <br /> 23.31.22.23.0009, 23.31.22.23.0010 and 23.31.22.23.0014 <br /> Dear Mr. March; <br /> The Church of St. Genevieve would like to submit an offer to purchase the Public Works <br /> Property identified in the above parcel's. The Church of St. Genevieve has short term and <br /> long term plans for the property. With the continual growth of the surrounding <br /> communities, we have seen an increase in participation in our Parish. Accordingly, <br /> parking during masses and Church activities has become an increasing problem. It would <br /> be our intention to initially use the property as parking space as needed. The Church of <br /> St. Genevieve has begun the initial process of long term planning for the future of the <br /> Parish. This has included retaining an architect firm to do a preliminary study on the <br /> surrounding community and projected needs of our Parish. Nothing has been decided at <br /> this time but it is apparent the facilities will be inadequate as they are to fulfill the <br /> requirements of the community. The St. Paul Archdiocese has stringent guidelines in <br /> Church facilities and open areas. It is a priority that any property and facilities be <br /> environmentally friendly to blend in with the community. We have not prepared any <br /> drawings or sketches at this time due to the early stages of our planning. They will be <br /> shared as our planning continues. <br /> We understand that the Church would be responsible for the demolition of the Public <br /> Works building. We also understand the City of Centerville has not done any soil testing <br /> of the site nor investigations into other hazardous materials contained on the site. <br /> Accordingly, our offer is contingent upon further review of these conditions. <br /> Our offer is for $25,000 payable upon closing.
